Bonnyville Minor Hockey 2026/2027 Season Registration

Heading into the 2026-2027 Hockey Canada is launching The Shift Forward: Evolving Hockey Culture, a new learning and development program that is the home for national education and training with courses for coaches & parents/guardians.
The Shift Forward is an enhanced education program that was created following an extensive consultation process with stakeholders in Hockey Canada-sanctioned programs to understand how education and training can better support participants and the key objective of changing unhealthy behaviors in the game.
The Shift Forward will replace Respect in Sport online clinics.
- Registration closes July 2nd, 2026. Returning player registrations received after this date will be subject to a $125.00 late fee.
- Updated bond cheques are required for all players.
- Registration payments can be paid online or offline. Offline payments are accepted via cheque or bank draft(post dated August 1st) during BMHA office hours, BMHA drop box or mail. BMHA Unit 1002 4313 50th Ave, Bonnyville, AB T9N 0B4.
- BMHA Office and Drop Box location has moved. We are on the second floor, through the double doors by the elevator and our office is the first door on the left; drop box located next to office door.
- Offline payments are to be received by registration deadline July 2nd, 2026.
- Please ensure your Respect in Sport - Parent is current, Respect in Sport Certification will expire on May 1st; 4 years after completing it. If your Respect in Sport has expired you are now required to complete a new online course "The Shift Forward" Click HERE for information and to complete.

FIRST time players in Minor Hockey, complete the below steps. If you are changing residences within the Province of Alberta, please proceed to menu item "Moving to Bonnyville from another Association in Alberta".
Step 1: Create a Hockey Canada(HCR) Number, Click Here for instructions on how to create a HCR number. ****Please select Bonnyville and District Minor Hockey Association under Organization selection****
Step 2: Complete the The Shift Forward - Parent Course. Please ensure you select BONNYVILLE as your home association; you will need your HCR number to link Respect in Sport.
Step 3: Complete the Online Parent Declaration Form. You will need the following prior to completing the form; Be sure to include registrar@bonnyvilleminorhockey.ca in the Minor Hockey Association Submission field:
- One piece of players identification (e.g., birth certificate, passport) is used to verify the birth year for each player. Please upload as one proof of residency documents.
- Two pieces of residency (e.g., utility bill, phone bill, driver's license) is used for address verification. Confidential details can be blacked out; we need proof of address.
- Players' HCR number that was created in the respect in the sports portal.
Step 4: Email Wanda registrar@bonnyvilleminorhockey.ca when above steps are complete.
Moving to Bonnyville Minor Hockey from another Hockey Association within Alberta. You must first complete Hockey Alberta's Player Movement Form.
Step 1. Complete A Player Movement Form,
Step 2. Forward the completed Player Movement Form along with two proof of residency to registrar@bonnyvilleminorhockey.ca.
Step 3. You will receive further registration instructions from Bonnyville Minor Hockey when the transfer is appoved.
Moving to Bonnyville Minor Hockey from another Hockey Association outside Alberta. You must first complete Hockey Alberta's Parent Declaration Form.
Step 1. Complete Parent Declaration Form, please place registrar@bonnyvilleminorhockey.ca in the "Email address of the MHA for which the player is registering"
Step 2. Email Wanda @ registrar@bonnyvilleminorhockey.ca when form completed, you will receive further registration instructions from Bonnyville Minor Hockey when the transfer is appoved.
Bonnyville Minor Hockey has added a U18(NBC) option to our 2026-2027 registration, depending on interest. NBC teams provide a competitive hockey environment focused on skill development and gameplay without checking.
The registration link will show $0.00 to gauge interest. The fee will be the same as U18 $900.00.
Pond Hockey is part of Hockey Alberta's sanctioned Recreational Hockey Model
The goal of Hockey Alberta’s Recreational Hockey Model, and its different streams, is to ensure families have access to affordable, fun, and safe opportunities to participate in youth hockey with a moderate to low time and financial Commitment. Regardless of the program stream, Hockey Alberta encourages good sportsmanship, fair play, friendship, and respect.
Our season will begin with approx. Ten 1 hr 15min ice sessions that can be practice or game play for a cost of $235.00 which includes a new jersey. Each session will take place on altenating Sunday's; schedule will be available at a later date.
